AFRIKOA is a brand of chocolate that sources its cacao beans directly from African farmers. The company claims to be the first bean-to-bar chocolate producer in Africa and aims to create a sustainable and ethical supply chain. Afrikoa’s cacao beans are grown in Tanzania, where they are harvested, fermented, dried, and roasted. The beans are then transported to Cape Town, South Africa, where they are refined, cinched, tempered, and moulded into chocolate bars. Afrikoa’s chocolate is made with natural ingredients and no additives or preservatives. The company offers four varieties of chocolate: 55% Semi-Sweet Dark, Chocolate, 70% Dark Chocolate, 80% Sugar-Free Dark, Chocolate, and 27% Milk Chocolate.
